Temper tantrums

Children often convey their negative emotions with behaviour rather than words. Ladybug staff encourages children to develop their awareness and expression of emotions. When children learn to identify and verbalize their feelings, they develop healthy, positive social skills. The Ladybug Supervisor (or Supported Child Care staff) will intervene when children have temper tantrums. Managing Verbal and Physical aggression between children and towards adults:
Ladybug Staff will remain calm and use a non-judgmental manner in these situations. Children need to be taught that some of their behaviors may be unacceptable. It is the behaviour, not the child that is unacceptable. We will always ensure that children are respected and their self esteem is considered when dealing with these situations.
